Session Title: Understanding Accessibility and Accommodations

Session Description:
We will delve into the process of accessing services from the Department of Services for the Blind (DSB), ensuring you have a clear understanding of each step involved. Additionally, we will engage in an interactive discussion on evaluating job roles through an accessibility lens, identifying key considerations for both employers and employees. To conclude, we will host an open lab led by DSB’s Assistive Technology Specialist, where you’ll have the opportunity to explore and experience the innovative tools and technologies DSB employs to enhance workplace accessibility.
Presenter(s) Description:
Josh Resnick has a robust background in workforce development, with a particular focus on IT and upskilling. He has successfully created and piloted numerous programs, including Goodwill’s CRED, IT Fundamentals, and Basics. In addition to his program development expertise, Josh has implemented various initiatives at nonprofits that emphasize outreach and digital equity. His academic background is rooted in philosophy and computer science, with a bachelor's degree from Stetson University. Currently, he is pursuing a master's degree in public administration.
